Woodland House is an accessible holiday and respite home, designed by an occupational therapist for neurodiverse guests with complex needs and physical disabilities - and for the families and carers who support them.

Welcoming guests from May 2027: Woodland House is currently being completed and will welcome its first guests next year. While we don’t yet have finished photography, you can explore the floor plan to see how the property has been thoughtfully designed around accessibility, comfort and complex needs. A holiday should be a break for everyone. At Woodland House, the details are designed in from the start so you don't have to worry about them.

Woodland House is a six-bedroom property, made up of a four-bed and a two-bed home. The two homes can be booked independently or together so whether you're a large family group, a smaller party, or a provider arranging respite, there's a way to stay that works for you.

The property offers level access throughout, wide entrance doorways and internal pocket doors for easy movement. Three dedicated accessible bedrooms; two in the four-bed home and one in the two-bed home include profiling beds, safe spaces and ceiling track hoists (200kg capacity) with linked wet rooms. The remaining guest bedrooms are large and spacious, each flexible enough to be set up as a king or twin room and finished to the same high standard so families, siblings and carers can truly rest too. Outside, secure grounds with a fixed perimeter offer space to breathe, and four dedicated disabled parking spaces sit close to the level-access entrance.

- Beyond the built-in design, Woodland House is equipped with the equipment that makes daily life easier: riser recliner chairs, a choice of shower chairs, a changing bench and shower bench in the bathroom, and a mobile hoist. Moving, washing and settling comfortably is straightforward — however each guest prefers to be supported.

In the four-bed home: two accessible bedrooms, each with its own safe space and profiling bed, with ceiling track hoists (200kg capacity) linking to a shared jack-and-jill wet room.
In the two-bed home: a purpose-designed and configured accessible bedroom, with a ceiling track hoist (200kg capacity) linked to a purpose-designed wet room, plus a safe space and profiling bed.
Two of the three accessible bedrooms (one in each home) also offer an enhanced specification: safe televisions, hidden plug sockets, built-in window blinds, unbreakable pictures and two options of safe space. Little details that help a room feel genuinely their own.

The kitchen is planned with the same care. Cupboards are lockable, cooking facilities are fitted at two heights for easy reach, and the water supply can be turned off quickly and simply when needed so mealtimes can be safe, sociable and stress-free.
Every element has been planned by an occupational therapist, with equipment procurement and integration carried out to the highest standard for the broadest range of user requirements.

Babies and children are most welcome. A highchair and travel cot are available on request.

Woodland House isn't a standard home with adaptations bolted on later. It has been designed from the ground up alongside an occupational therapist so the building, the doorways, the rooms and the equipment all work together.

Occupational therapists spend their working lives understanding how spaces help or hinder people. That expertise shapes every decision at Woodland House from the width of a doorway to the way a hoist travels between bed and wet room.

Equipment procurement and integration has been carried out to the highest standard, with the broadest range of user requirements considered at every stage. The result is a home that can support complex and varied needs while feeling calm, uncluttered and welcoming for everyone who steps through the door.

Because the thinking was done at the design stage, nothing feels clinical. Woodland House is a holiday home first, and an exceptionally well-equipped one second.

A few years ago, paediatric OT Jenny met a little patient who didn't have long left and whose only dream was one more holiday with his family. They couldn't find a single place that would work for them.

Jenny was heartbroken. And then she was determined.

So, she built it, designed and made so no family ever has to hear "we can't help you." We now hear “finally someone who gets it”

True care isn't just physical it’s the peace a neurodivergent person feels in a safe space, and the calm a family feels knowing their loved one is truly, safe. So those special memories can be made.

Yes. The three guest bedrooms are large and spacious, and each can be configured as a king or twin room so you can set them up to match how your group is staying.
The hot tub with hoist is located outside the 4 bedroom home - if this is vacant at the time of your stay then we welcome you to use it but otherwise no, you would need to book the 4 bed or entire 6 bedrooms to guarantee use of the hot tub.

Yes. Carers and support staff are very welcome, and the property is designed so that everyone in the party including the people providing care can get a proper rest.

Answer: We have a fantastic team of builders and suppliers who are doing everything they can to ensure that Woodland House will open in May 2027. This is not our first major project at Lower Laurel Farm: Coastal Cottage and Mountain Lodge both opened ahead of schedule, and we are applying the same level of care, planning, and oversight this time.
We continually review our opening date because we understand how much preparation goes into a holiday for families with additional needs, and we never want to disappoint anyone. In the unlikely event that we need to delay the opening, any existing booking will first be offered the opportunity to move to the next available date, with the early‑booking discount fully honoured. Alternatively, you would of course be entitled to a full refund of any payments already made.

Price: 2 bed from £820 per week, 4 bed from £1,200, whole house pricing is from £2,000 to £3,800 per week
